What is the MSGP?

How to check if you are Applicable?

Is my Facility regulated?

The Multi Sector General Permit (MSGP) was established by the EPA to oversee industrial stormwater discharges from specific industrial facilities. The MSGP is regulated by state and local environmental agencies, and requires the creation and maintenance of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWP3). Minimum requirements include:

- Regulatory site inspections

- Maintenance and repair programs

- Material management

- Spill prevention and response

- Site Map creation & updates

- Annual SWP3 training

- Sampling and analysis

- Water quality monitoring

- Record keeping

- Reporting to the TCEQ and EPA

Stormwater Advisors provides Comprehensive MSGP Management for all SWP3 Requirements. We also

provide A-la-carte stormwater services.

Is my Facility regulated?

The MSGP governs industrial stormwater discharges from 30 specific industrial sectors based on SIC codes, designated industrial activities, or the requirement to comply with numeric effluent limits. Compliance with industrial stormwater regulations is critical, and the MSGP management framework outlines these requirements clearly. This is a general list of categories of industrial facilities that are applicable to the MSGP and must adhere to a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan:

Manufacturing & Processing (Heavy & Light):

Mining - (Limestone, Sand & Gravel, Stone, Clay, etc.):

Waste & Recycling - (Hazardous waste TSD, Recycling, Landfills, Auto Salvage, etc.):

Transportation - (Air, Water, Land):

Utilities & Treatment - (Power Plants, Large WWTPs):

Misc. Industrial Facilities - (Timber products, facilities subject to federal effluent limitations guidelines):

What is the cost of Stormwater Compliance?

From my experience, most consultants charge several thousand dollars more than necessary. There is so much over-head at some firms that you end up paying for their administrative layers rather than actual environmental expertise.

At Stormwater Advisors, we strip away the over-blown costs to focus strictly on what matters: your Compliance. We take pride in providing exceptional service at a cost-effective price while ensuring your Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan is complete, accurate and Audit ready!

Reach out to us, and we’ll showcase our exceptional service, with no obligation!
